Honouring both head and heart and nurturing nature for complete animal health and wellbeing

Does your horse or dog have an illness or injury that is proving difficult to diagnose, manage or resolve? Are they showing behaviour you are concerned might be related to underlying pain or dysfunction? Do you want to help them using a logical, compassionate, and practical approach?

Dr Lily Wilson BVetMed BSc(Hons) MRCVS Veterinary Surgeon

Hi, I’m Lily. I am a vet who helps people truly advocate for their animals with a mindful application of head and heart. In providing advice and education on animal health and wellbeing and in practicing as a vet, the core of my approach is combining both scientific evidence and compassionate understanding. I believe in identifying and tackling deep, systemic root causes of ill health and wellbeing. I see that physical, mental and emotional wellbeing are inextricably interconnected and that there is a wisdom to nature and the body in its own healing that we can assist. I believe cultivating meaningful relationships with our animal companions holds an important key to solving ill health and that deep awareness and a compassionate process will enable us to find sustainable, ethical solutions.

I look forward to working with you and your animal companions!

How can I help you?

  • If it is proving difficult to diagnose, treat, manage or resolve a health condition or a certain behaviour or if the current approach does not align with your values, I can help you online or in-person, via an assessment of you and your animal’s unique situation, and via teaching you my methods.

  • Are you facing concerning behaviours or finding your horse or dog difficult to train? If so there may be an underlying health reason, including undiagnosed pain. Is it difficult or impossible to investigate this or administer treatments, for example due to vet phobia or needle shyness? I can help you both online and in-person, with assessment and an ethical approach to changing behaviour, and via teaching you my methods.

  • I have identified four deep roots to whole horse health and wellbeing, which I call:

    • Husbandry for happiness

    • Movement medicine

    • Cultivating comfort

    • Communication, compassion and consent

I investigate and use these four deep roots in the course of helping you and your horse or dog, and teach them both in-person and online.
